Conserving one of the few indigenous forests in Kenya through green economics
Develop income generating activities in and around Rumuruti Forest including eco-tourism, sustainable agriculture and honey production. Link these activities together along with forest-use permit fees - with a local currency. To use this currency to keep a community savings that circulates in the local area. To raise the standard of living in the communities around Rumuruti Forest - and to tie this increased standard of living with forest and wildlife conservation.
